Great Bear in Oldham received a water audit from Brownlow Utilities to evaluate their current water charges and assess their site’s utility infrastructure. Upon conducting initial investigations, the water specialists at Brownlow Utilities discovered some flaws in the surface water drainage assessment of the site.

Solution

Following initial investigations, the water specialists at Brownlow Utilities identified some flaws in the surface water drainage assessment of the site. They performed detailed tests across the site and analysed the billing and draining plans to successfully determine that the surface water from the site was managed by natural waterways rather than the local water company’s drainage system.

Benefit

Not only did the initiative result in an elimination of surface water charges amounting to £35,000 annually, but a refund of £149,000 was also received due to overcharges incurred over the past six years.
