Power Purchase Agreements
Power purchase agreements (PPAs) are contracts between energy sellers and buyers, where the buyer agrees to purchase a certain amount of energy generated from utility scale renewable sources such as solar, wind and hydro.
Many businesses use PPAs to help decarbonise their energy supply. At Brownlow, we provide clients with three PPA options to choose from among our approved installation partners, including a review and analysis to support them in their decision making.
Fully financed PPA
An agreement which allows a business to design, finance and install a renewables project with no, or low, upfront costs. Power is sold back to you at reduced energy rates giving the opportunity for long term savings and green benefits.
Corporate PPAs
An agreement where a company commits to procure electricity directly from an energy producer or energy project, which could belong to another business. Power is ‘sleeved’ from the project to your business. This ties you more directly to the renewable generation.
Export contract PPA
An agreement which pays for any energy exported to the grid. These are in place for customers with on-site generation, such as Solar Panels or Wind Turbines.
