West Derby Golf Club
West Derby Golf Club (WDGC) in Liverpool is a mature parkland course with lush fairways and excellent greens. Playing host to many notable events including county fixtures, and the John Parrott MBE Annual Golf Classic, it is important that the club’s hospitality is on par with its formidable course.
Providing first class hospitality comes at a cost, so when Karen Buck, Manager at WDGC had the opportunity to review the club’s water services and charges, with no obligations, she jumped at the chance.
Stephen Cross and the team at Brownlow Utilities conducted an audit of the club’s water services and instantly revealed overcharges of £15,000 over the last 5 years. On-going, this meant savings of £3,000 per year in water charges.
The findings prompted WDGC to review the site’s energy portfolio which yielded the following savings over 3 years:
- £7,500 (12.62%) on electricity
- £9,862 (24%) on gas
Karen Buck was amazed with the results;
"We can’t believe how an initial call to review the club’s water charges has resulted in 3 year savings of over £20,000! The process was handled efficiently and professionally by a team of experts who genuinely wanted to improve the club’s energy portfolio and affect our bottom line".
