TRU Rehabilitation
TRU (Transitional Rehabilitation Units) Ltd. provide specialist rehabilitation facilities for people who have an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI). Much of the group’s rehabilitation programme is carried out across 12 residential units and outreach facilities throughout the North West of England. Providing a first class, supported living scheme for both clients and staff means that these buildings need to be managed efficiently and effectively – around the clock!
Managed centrally, the gas and electricity contracts differed at each site in terms of the incumbent supplier, contract rates and end dates. Many sites had supplies that were out of contract and therefore demanding unrestrained rates. This meant that TRU’s entire energy portfolio was disjointed, uncompetitive and costing TRU lots of money.
Following a review of TRU’s 18 supply points, Brownlow Utilities were able to bring some control, clarity and competitiveness to the group’s energy portfolio.
- Consolidated energy usage across the entire estate
- Contracted one supplier for gas and one supplier for electricity
- Generated savings of £40,768.99 (60.22%)
- Managed a common end date of 30/09/2018 for all sites
Brownlow professionally managed the renewal process, identifying a range of suppliers and providing costs comparisons at every stage. Following renewal, an initial bill check was carried out for each site to validate the new contract’s agreement. Going forward, a dedicated Account Manager is on hand to offer support and answer any queries.

"Thanks to the Brownlow team, we can now see, control and optimise our energy usage across the whole of the TRU estate whilst enjoying ongoing savings.
I really appreciate the help that they gave over and above their own duty of care when a damaged meter interrupted gas supply at a key site over the winter period. We value their continued support".
