The British Industrial Competitiveness Scheme (BICS) is a government initiative aimed at lowering electricity bills for eligible businesses. Under the latest update, qualifying organisations could benefit from reductions on total costs of invoices of up to 25%, with implementation expected from April 2027.
The scheme primarily targets sectors such as automotive, aerospace, chemicals and plastics, where electricity consumption forms a substantial proportion of operating costs.
